Haven’t said much about this yet, but I’ve been keeping busy doing some fun shit for my friends over at @wovenwaterbrewing this year. 😏 Been flexing a slightly different style-muscle and really digging doing packaging more often recently.

This has been a long time coming – 10 years ago I decided I wanted cooler, drier weather and to move to the western side of the US. Denver was one of my main choices. Early last year, I decided Denver was my next home and spent all year making moves to get here.

Seems appropriate this native Florida gal is moving to a state with even more days of sunshine than the sunshine state! Been here a couple weeks already and loving the cooler, sunny winter weather every single day. Getting settled over the next month and plan to start posting more again. Cheers y’all ✌️

[Sound ON] Whether it be rhythm in music or rhythm in design – i’m a sucker for rhythm 🤤.

I'm constantly inspired by the music I listen to, even if it isn't so literal as this. It is the fuel to what I create. Sometimes I find myself changing my tempo of designing to the tempo of the tune I'm listening to, and changing my flow of clicking to sync with the flow of the rhythm. Music is an instant gateway into a flow state and accesses creativity within me I didn't know I had.

[Sound ON] Whether it be rhythm in music or rhythm in design – i’m a sucker for rhythm 🤤.

I'm constantly inspired by the music I listen to, even if it isn't so literal as this. It is the fuel to what I create. Sometimes I find myself changing my tempo of designing to the tempo of the tune I'm listening to, and changing my flow of clicking to sync with the flow of the rhythm. Music is an instant gateway into a flow state and accesses creativity within me I didn't know I had.

Been working on this one for a hot minute between some other stuff. I had wanted to make something like this for a while – only took 30 hours later redoing things over and over 🫠. The community surrounding the historical & current contexts of sound system culture has been a huge part of my life the last few years – full of vibrant, passionate people who care deeply about the fidelity and art of sound.

What started in Kingston, Jamaica in the 1940s as a way for marginalized music to be heard through collectives who hosted sound systems, it migrated and intertwined its way into the UK underground dance music scene, and recently has had huge momentum in America.

Sound system music fuels everything I do creatively, and I appreciate all the homies I’ve met through a passion for sound.

✨STORY TIME✨
My dad’s been in aerospace engineering working on space shuttles at Honeywell since the mid-80’s, and has been tirelessly dedicated to his craft beyond belief. He worked so hard to get to where he is from nothing, has pulled many long work weeks and late nights finishing projects, and just finished the first new generation of them, the SLS rockets that piloted November 2022 after starting it 12 years ago.

He just had his 65th birthday, so I know he will be passing the baton onto future generations, but his commitment to his work and his legacy needed to be recognized. This illustration took a ridiculous amount of time to make sure every angle, line, and point was seamless and perfect, but every minute was worth it to commemorate all his hard work. And sheeeesh, I never think I’ll get over this gold foil goodness 🤤 (I’m a sucker for foil printed anything)
